Start with coffee and shops in Coldwater, then head to Port Severn for boats at the lock and a sandwich stop. Return to the cottage for a peaceful afternoon on the deck. Finish with dinner at the Oak Bay Clubhouse before returning for cottage time.

    Locks & lunch in Port Severn

    Venture to Port Severn and watch boats navigate Lock 45 of the Trent–Severn Waterway, travelling between Gloucester Pool and Georgian Bay. Then stop at Coffee Cabin for what we call the world’s best sandwich.

    Deck time & slower pace

    Head back to the cottage for some afternoon sun on the deck. Settle in with a good book, take in the beauty of nature, and let the rest of the day unfold at your own pace.

How many guests can stay?

The cottage accommodates up to six registered overnight guests. Up to four additional daytime visitors may be permitted with advance approval from your host. Please include their number, approximate ages and any accompanying pets when requesting approval. Daytime approval does not permit overnight stays.

What time are check-in and checkout?

Check-in is from 4:00 p.m. Checkout is by 10:00 a.m.

Can we bring our pets?

Pets are welcome. Let your host know about any pets when inquiring so pet conditions and any applicable fees can be confirmed before booking.

Can we swim at the cottage?

Swimming is not suitable directly from the cottage waterfront or dock. MacLean Lake is a great place to swim and is just a 30-second paddle away.

How do we book, and what does it cost?

Use the date calculator to estimate your accommodation price and inquire directly. Your host will confirm availability, any additional charges and booking terms before accepting your reservation.

Are parties or events allowed?

No parties or events. All guests must follow the house rules. A supplemental rental agreement is sent to confirmed bookings to confirm attendees and agreement with the rules.

Read our House Rules for arrival and departure times, quiet hours, property rules and the occupancy and visitor policy. Your host will provide the rental agreement and any additional rules and booking terms for your review before you reserve.

Quiet hours

Quiet hours are from 10:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Please respect our neighbours and keep noise to a minimum during these hours.

Parties, events & commercial photography

No parties or events. Commercial photography is not permitted.

No smoking indoors

Smoking is not permitted inside the premises.

Pet waste & garbage

Please remove all pet waste and garbage from the property at checkout.

Overnight occupancy

The maximum occupancy for this property is 6 registered overnight guests at any time, unless prior written approval has been provided by the host.

Daytime visitors

Daytime visitors are limited to a maximum of 4 additional guests beyond the approved overnight occupancy and must be approved in advance by the host. When requesting approval, please provide the number of visitors, their approximate ages, and whether any pets (including dogs) will be accompanying them.

Gatherings & departure

Approval of daytime visitors does not permit parties, events, or large gatherings, and all visitors must depart by the time specified by the host. Overnight stays are not permitted unless guests have been approved and added to the reservation.

Why this policy matters

This policy is in place to protect the property, neighboring residents, and the home's amenities and infrastructure, including the septic system, hot tub capacity, and the safe and comfortable use of the indoor living spaces, particularly during inclement weather when everyone may need to be inside.

Failure to comply

Failure to comply with this policy may result in the immediate cancellation of the reservation, removal from the property without refund, and additional charges for any resulting damages, excessive wear, or violations of house rules.

Stay five nights or more outside July, August and holiday weekends for 20% off the nightly subtotal. Stays containing any peak nights do not qualify. Estimate includes a $200 cleaning fee per stay.
